Storm Clouds
I created this collection as a nod to those stormy moments that turn your world upside down.
When you find yourself so deep you can’t orient yourself. Until you touch bottom.
Which is oddly comforting.
Now at least you know which way is up.
At the time, I was traversing a trauma that had me both wanting to scream about it, and simultaneously remain silent. In some ways, voicing a thing feels like manifesting it, right? But keeping it bottled isn’t good either. One day, I just started writing those feelings into haiku. The verse structure felt a bit like guardrails, keeping me safely from tumbling over the cliff. As the words spilled out, the misery slowly became more manageable — not unlike how the heavy storms wash the pollution and grit out of the sky, leaving behind fresh sweet air. So you can finally breathe again.
