The Story Behind the Visible Mending Series
My fellow seekers, builders, and unsolders,
"Scars are honest. Not in a 'woe is me' kind of way, but more like a 'been there, done that, lived to tell about it' kind of way."
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the beauty of things that have been broken and intentionally made whole again. The effort it takes to navigate life's scratch-and-dent sections is something to be celebrated—even if you're the only one who knows what you've carried. You know what you've endured. Hold your head high. Visible mending has a beauty the flawless cannot match.
This philosophy is the heartbeat behind my newest work: Visible Mending.
Each piece is a wearable affirmation for times of transition and resilience. I hand-fabricated them at the bench from a heavy, substantial 14-gauge recycled Argentium silver (.935). A distinct fracture line tracks straight through the full thickness of the silver heart, tracing a story of experience and impact. Then, using solid niobium wire sutures carefully anodized in a curated green hue, I stitched the metal back together—reinforcing themes of integrity, grit, and perseverance.
Because of the intense, hand-forged nature of these pieces, this is a true micro-release of only five pendants. Each one came off the bench with its own unique texture, gap, and personality, and I have given them individual titles to reflect those distinct stories.
Below is a preview of the five pieces dropping tonight. Find the one that speaks to your chapter.
Meet the Collection
Open Fissure
“Healing doesn’t mean returning to exactly how we were before. It means adapting.”
True to its name, this piece features a distinct, parted fracture line. The silver does not meet perfectly, echoing the reality of a life changed by experience. The niobium sutures stretch across this intentional gap, bridging the past and the future with beautiful adaptability.
Impact Site
“Visible cracks on the surface hint at the fissures below. But you are bigger than the hits you’ve taken. You not only survive, you thrive.”
This pendant carries a deeply forged, high-impact texture on the surface. The deep grooves tell a story of a heavy hit, but the solid niobium stitching stands as a fierce, defiant reminder that your foundation remains unbroken.
Jagged Fracture
“For the one who’s a little ‘cracked’ but definitely not broken.”
This piece features a sharp, lightning-like fracture tracking through the silver heart. It has a slightly rugged, raw energy to the texture, celebrating the grit, humor, and resilience of someone who has been through the fire and kept their spirit entirely intact
Resonant Repair
“For a fellow warrior who persists with grace and kindness equal to her will.”
This pendant balances strength with elegance. The fracture line is clean and precise, while the anodized green niobium stitching is woven with beautiful, seamless symmetry. It is a quiet, powerful tribute to soft hearts and fierce wills.
The Chasm
“Sometimes the rift is wide, but the connection is wider still. The deepest spaces are where we build our strongest bridges.”
As the final piece in the series, The Chasm features the largest open gap at the center of the silver. The niobium stitching spans boldly across the divide, acting as a vibrant green bridge tying her halves securely back together. It is a stunning visual of wholeness found through intentional repair.
